On August 28th, 2011 our Town of Prattsville was severely damaged by the Tropical Storm Irene.  While our cabin is ready to welcome you, it will take time for the Town of Prattsville to recover from this recent disaster.
Most affected were homes on Main Street.  Our little bungalow is located on a side street, a short walk away from Main Street.

Please take some time to learn more by entering "Prattsville, NY flood" or similar keywords in Google or other search engines.

I want to say thank you for the e-mails and phone calls I received from our prior guests after the town of Prattsville was hit by Tropical Storm Irene.  It means a lot to me to know that my daughter and I, as well as our little bungalow was remembered and though of by our guests.
The town of Prattsville was hit by this hurricane in a way that no one was prepared for. In fact, I was contacting my close ones from New York and inviting them to come to Prattsville, since it was being reported on the news that New York was going to be affected by the Hurricane Irene. Little did we know our little town was about to take a big hit.
They called it a 500 year flood.
We did not have water or electricity for a while.  It took about 3 weeks before our phone, internet and cable TV was turned back on.  Most importantly, my house as well as the little bungalow are both standing. Unfortunately there was some damage that the bungalow sustained from the flood. We have since replaced the floor, rugs, etc and made other repairs.  New photos are already uploaded to the site.
We have been working on the bungalow and my house from day one while dealing with no electricity or water at first and cancelled rentals in September.  I feel blessed that both are still here. Many people have lost their homes. The work being done around the town is amazing.   Local residents and volunteers are working in the town every day.  We hope that Prattsville will recover and rebuild.

People who are interested in renting need to know that the town has suffered and it will take time for it to recover.
The Great American grocery has since re-opened, followed by Beth's Cafe, Agway, Tavern Bar, Prattsville Diner and others.
We are now also offering our home as a vacation rental in addition to the little bungalow.
