  1. Where is the Bungalow located?

  2. Is the Bungalow in a secluded area or in the woods?

    Even though our Tiny House is tucked away on a small dead end side street, it is still located in a small town and there are houses near by as in any other small town in this area. We are NOT in the woods.
  3. How tiny is your Bungalow?

    The whole Tiny house is just 20 by 10 feet, about 200 sq feet total!
  4. How far from NYC is the bungalow located?

    We are about 140 miles (about 2 ½ - 3 hours) from NYC. VIEW MAP (directions from NYC and I-87). Take exit 20 or 21 from I-87 to get to us. View Google Map
  5. How far is the Tiny House from Albany, NY?

    We are about 1 hour away from Albany, NY.
  6. What County is your bungalow in?

    We are located in Greene county, on the very border with Schoharie County and Delaware County.
  7. How far are you from Windham, or Hunter, NY?

    We are 10 miles away from Windham, and 14 miles from Hunter, NY.
  8. Do you allow pets?

    No. No animals of any kind are allowed. We do NOT make exceptions to any of our rules.
  9. Is smoking allowed inside the bungalow?

    Smoking is prohibited inside our Tiny House. If you smoke outside, please use the ashtray and clean up before check out.
  10. Is there a wood stove in the bungalow?

    No. However, we have a very cute Electric Wood Stove with realistic flame that adds a cozy, romantic atmosphere.
  11. Can I rent your Tiny House in the winter?

    Yes! Our Tiny House is available for rent all year. Bungalow is heated for the winter with silent, electric oil filled heaters. Please see rental agreement for heater settings.
  12. Is there an AC in the Bungalow?

    Yes! There is an air conditioner in the bedroom, which cools off the whole Tiny House. We require that AC is used on Low or Medium mode only and that all windows are closed while in use.
    Important when using AC: Our evenings temperatures are usually cool so it is recommended to turn OFF AC (or run it on FAN only mode) and open windows anytime outside temperature is below 65 degrees. Please note that if you are running AC and it's cool outside, the compressor might freeze which will cause the unit to break down. We will hold you responsible for damaging the unit and any repair or replacement costs.
  13. Are there any ceiling fans inside the cabin?

    Yes! There is a ceiling fan in the kitchen/dining area.
  14. Are the any stores near by where I can purchase food?

    Yes! There is a grocery store in walking distance from our Tiny House (Great American Grocery Store on Main Street).
  15. Can I get to your Tiny House by public transportation?

    Yes, you can! You can take a bus from NYC Port Authority. Bus runs twice a day in each direction between New York City and Oneonta. Your ticket should be to Prattsville, NY. The bus will leave you in walking distance from the cabin.
  16. Do you offer more than one cabin?

    Yes! We also offer a small cottage rental, located next to the bungalow (See photo) . Cottage fits up to 6 guests (up to 4 adults and 2 children). Please visit www.catskillcottages.com for pictures and more info.

  17. Can I rent the Bungalow for more than 2 guests?

    No. Our Tiny House is set up for up to 2 people. It's ideal for a couple as it has 1 (full size) bed. It would not be comfortable for a bigger group.
    If you are looking for a larger cabin, please contact us.
  18. Can I cook inside the cabin?

    Yes! Bungalow has fully equipped kitchen. You may also grill outdoors on the charcoal grill provided (bring your own charcoal), use the microwave to re-heat food, coffee maker, and the electric kettle to boil water. There is no toaster and we do not allow guests to bring any electrical cooking devices due to past problems.
  19. Are there any pots, plates, glasses or utensils in the Bungalow?

    Yes. Our Tiny Home is equipped in all the basic accessories, dishes, glasses and utensils, grill tools, few basic pots and pans. Feel free to bring your favorite pots/pans.
  20. Are linens and/or towels provided?

    Yes. One time setup includes linens (bed will be made) and towels (one bath towel per person). If you need more towels or sheets, please bring them with you.
  21. Is there Internet connection available in the Bungalow?

    Yes! Wireless High Speed Internet connection is available. Wi-Fi is coming from our cottage next door.
  22. Are there any cameras on the property?

    We utilize an exterior surveillance camera with video and audio capture for security and weather monitoring. It located on the front porch of our cottage next door by the front door and is used for the surveillance of the driveway, entrances and exits of the cottage and bungalow, and weather observations.
  23. Is there a TV inside the Tiny House?

    Yes. TV with Basic Cable Programming is provided.
  24. Is there a DVD player inside?

    Yes. There is a DVD player. Bring some of your own DVD's!
  25. How do I get the keys to enter the Tiny House?

    Someone will be there to show you in and/or we will provide you with a code to the key box that holds the key.
    It is important that you let us know what time you might arrive and keep us updated in case of any changes on the day of your arrival.
  26. What time is Check-In and Check-Out?

    Check in is after 4 PM and Check out is on or before 10AM.
    (Earlier check in or later check out can be arranged, for an additional fee. This service is only available in the event that there are no prior guests leaving on the day of your arrival, or arriving on your departure day, and if it does not interfere with our schedule. Please confirm with us.)
  27. Are there any Restaurants or bars in walking distance?

    There is a diner and a Tavern within few minutes walk from our Tiny House.

  28. Is there a lake by the Bungalow?

    No, however there is a Schoharie Creek in walking distance from the bungalow with a public beach area. (View Picture) For more information please see our Pratt Rock and Attractions pages.
  29. What other places are there to visit that are in walking distance?

    In addition to Schoharie Creek with public beach area you can take a walk to Pratt Rock Park for a picnic with beautiful views. On your way there you can visit the Prattsville Museum.
  30. Can I ski / snowboard near by?

    Yes! Our Bungalow is located just 10 miles from Windham Mountain, only 15 miles from Hunter, and 26 miles from Belleayre, making it a perfect location for skiers and snowboarders visiting the Catskills! Snow tubing is also available.
    Additionally Windham Mountain Adventure Park offers ice skating and kids snowmobile.

  31. What are some other attractions and things to do in the local area?

    Catskill mountains are filled with beautiful places to see, lakes, beautiful mountain views, hiking, biking, skiing, etc. There are festivals during spring, summer and fall, as well as skiing and other winter sports during winter. Don't forget to check out the Zip Line in Hunter!

  32. What type of payments do you accept and what are your booking rules?

    You can pay online with your credit or debit card, Paypal or Google Pay. For our booking rules please see our Rental Agreement page.
  33. Do you offer seasonal rentals for a month or longer?

    Yes. Please contact us in advance if you are interested in a longer term rental, so you can reserve dates that don't have any bookings yet.
  34. Is there hot and cold water inside?

    Yes! Both, sink and shower have hot and cold water. Please note that the hot water tank is small. We recommend that you take short showers, and wait between the showers or washing dishes for the water to warm up again.
  35. Can I do my laundry near by?

    Yes! There is a laundromat in walking distance from the cabin, by Great American store.
  36. What is provided and what should I bring with me?

    Everything basic is provided. One time setup includes linens (bed will be made) and towels (one bath towel per person). If you need more towels or sheets, please bring them with you. Toilet paper, napkins to start you with are there. If you need more, or other supplies, such as paper towels, garbage bags, charcoal for the grill etc, grocery store is within 5 minutes walk from the cabin (Great American grocery store on Main Street).
    If you have some favorite pots and pans, please bring as the ones there are very basic.
    Dishes, utensils, glasses are all there. We don't provide sharp knives, so please bring in case you need it.
    If you use face cleansers, makeup or creams that bleach or stain towels, you should bring your own makeup remover cloth or towel. We charge for replacing stained or bleached towels.
    During winter you might want to bring extra sweaters, blankets and/or sleeping bags.
    Feel free to bring DVD's. There is a DVD player and TV with basic cable channels inside our Tiny House.
    Please bring slippers and remove shoes inside the cabin.
  37. Where can I park?

    You may park between the bungalow and our cottage next to it, on the bungalow side (by the kitchen window), leaving enough space for another car to be able to park NEXT to you, on the cottage side.
    This is the only way that guests from the cottage and the bungalow can pull in and out of the driveway without blocking each other.
    Parking is limited to 1 car. If you are arriving in more than 1 vehicle, the 2nd one will have to be parked on Main Street.
